Please come out on Saturday, August 6, starting at 10am, to Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View to help out at this Important Trail Building Work Party. There will be 15 cubic yards of gravel to finish the surface of the new Hazelnut Loop Trail. This is just the first part of a plan that puts safe, accessible, usable trails in our local woods!

Bring yourself, bring your kids, bring your friends. Meet at 2809 S Alaska Place. Tools and gloves provided. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes.

There will be a potluck lunch at noon for work party participants. Bring something to share and enjoy a great view of the Blue Angels!

The next work party at Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View will be on Saturday, August 6, from 10am til noon. This is a critical event as a load of gravel will be arriving and will need to be placed on the trail bed. Come out and help with the bucket brigade and enjoy a community potluck afterward.

Meet at 2809 S Alaska Place (across Columbian/Alaska to the south of NRV) at 10am. Gloves and tools provided. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring your own water.

It’s NRV Neighborhood Cleanup Time! We will be meeting on Saturday, July 9th, at 10am in the Central Park. If you can volunteer to help us clean up New Rainier Vista for an hour or so, please show up with gloves, if you have them. We’ll have some gloves, grabbers, coffee and donuts. Come on out and join your neighbors.

Come on out for the next Neighborhood Cleanup this Saturday, June 11 at 10am. Bring gloves if you have them, although there are some you can borrow. Grabbers, bags, coffee and doughnuts will be available.

There’s a work party at Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View on Saturday, June 4, from 10am to 2pm. They will be working on the new Hazelnut Trail and need lots of volunteers to finish the trail this summer.

Meet at 2809 S. Alaska Place, wear sturdy shoes and bring your own water and snacks. Tools and gloves are provided.

The next Neighborhood Clean Up will be Saturday, May 14 at 10am. We meet in Central Park. Bring gloves if you have them; bags and grabbers and coffee are provided!

There will be a workparty in the Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View on this Saturday, Map 7, from 10am til noon. Meet at 2809 S Alaska Pl with your water bottle and sturdy shoes. Gloves and tools are provided. Kids are welcome.

The Earth Day work party last month successfully laid 85 feet of new trail. Come out on Saturday to widen and level the trail bed in preparation for another delivery of trail surface.

The Seattle Community Farm (aka the Urban Farm to the north of the Dakota P-Patch at the north end of NRV) will be having a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, June 25th from 12 - 3pm. Come celebrate the farm’s first growing season with food, stories, and a chance to help paint a street mural at the top of Lilac St S.

The folks at Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View are hoping to finish their first trail this weekend on Earth Day. Come out on Saturday, April 23, from 10am to 2pm, with your warm layers, sturdy shoes and sack lunch. Tasks will include clearing and prepping the trail beds, gauging levels, and applying gravel. Can’t do the labor? Come anyway and bring cookies! Got kids? Bring them and let them get muddy hunting for bugs and Spring Eggs!

There is an upcoming EARTH DAY Trail Building Work Party in Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View on Saturday, April 23 from 10:00am-2:00pm. Cheasty Greenspace is the swath of forest that runs along the eastern flanks of Beacon Hill, right up against the western edge of New Rainier Vista. This trail system and park will be a great asset to our neighborhood and communities! The Mt. View section is across Alaska from NRV, to the south.

We will be meeting at 2809 S. Alaska Place 98108 (one block west of the CCity Light Rail Station) and will provide all the gloves and tools. People should bring their own lunch, water and wear sturdy shoes and warm layers.
