The Technology Center at the Neighborhood House offers opportunities to access the internet, attend classes on computer skills, get help applying for jobs online, or help finding social services online. Staff are available to answer any questions and teach classes. Come visit soon to get connected!

Youth who need computers for their homework assignments are invited to attend and work with staff to complete their work!

Come join your neighbors for a Thanksgiving feast, Wednesday, November 16 from 5pm to 7pm at the Neighborhood House. Bring a dish to share (and label your contribution with the name of the dish and primary ingredients). There will be raffles and games! The Job Connection presents a Job Fair on Monday, August 9 from 1:30-4:30pm at the Neighborhood House’s large meeting room.  Bring your resume for a critique!  Meet employers and discover what jobs are available now.

The first annual Southeast Seattle Vietnamese Resource Fair will be on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the NewHolly Gathering Hall, 7054 32nd Ave South, Seattle, WA 98118. The goal of the resource fair is to help the Vietnamese American and immigrant community become better acquainted with government services as well as services provided by advocacy and community-based organizations.

At the fair there will be health, education, employment, housing, legal and a variety of other resources. We have government, city and community-based organizations participating in the fair. There will also be performances by youth, raffle prizes, food and more. The event is hosted by the Vietnamese Service Providers Network. For more info, please call 206-724-9480.

There’s a Job Fair at the High Point Community Center (6920 34th Ave SW, 98126) on July 8 from 10am to 2pm. Come meet with employers and learn about jobs available now. There will also be a Resume Critique available, so bring your resume!

The Jefferson Terrace Cyberlearning Project  on First Hill is seeking Computer Instructors for low-income adult learners with beginning to intermediate skills.  Instructors will conduct classes over several weeks on topics to be determined by community interest.  Classes will be held at the Jefferson Terrace Computer Lab on First Hill.  Salary DOE.  Minimum one year of leading computer classes is required.  For more information on this position, please contact Dorene Cornwell, Project Coordinator at JeffersonTLab08@yahoo.com or 206-524-8746.
