It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost time again for the monthly cleanup. This coming Saturday, Dec. 4th, we’ll meet in Central Park or in front of Neighborhood House if it’s raining. As usual, the time is 10:00 until about noon. Doughnuts, coffee, camaraderie and the pleasure of keeping our neighborhood cleaned up will all be available. Hope to see you there!

Come join us for the Community Kitchen on Friday, December 10th from 12noon – 2pm at Rainier Vista Center. There is no charge and this is a fun way to meet your neighbors and get a chance to eat delicious food from around the world. Please call Kate Farmer at 206-461-4568 ext. 211 for more info.

In case you missed the work party out in the Mt. View portion of the greenbelt south of us or in case you are more interested in work in the greenbelt that’s closer to us:

Join Seattle University, Earth Corps, the Green Seattle Partnership and Seattle Parks and Recreation in our ongoing efforts to restore Cheasty Greenspace. We will meet at the park entrance next to the intersection of Beacon Ave & Cheasty Blvd at 10am on Saturday, November 20th. Volunteers will be performing maintenance on restoration sites, creating “survival rings” around trees and ground cover in this 43-acre south Seattle greenspace. Other work may include non-native plant removal, past restoration site stewardship, or woodchip application. Sign up at Earthcorps.org.”

It’s NRV Neighborhood Cleanup Time again! November 6th will be a good time to pick up after the Halloween Trick R’ Treat Night. If you can volunteer for an hour or so, please show up with gloves, if you have them. We’ll have some gloves if you don’t have them, and we’ll have Starbucks coffee and donuts. Come on out and join your neighbors. Rain or shine, we have a lot of fun and keep our neighborhood looking good!
