Seattle Schools’ New School Assignment Plan

It’s a draft plan, but the current proposed “attendance area” maps have been released. Access them here:

Of particular interest: New Rainier Vista have been assigned to three schools. Those in Phase 1 will be assigned to Kimball. In Phase 2 (across MLK), those north of Oregon (across MLK from Columbian) will be assigned to John Muir and those south of Oregon will go to Hawthorne. Perhaps these divisions don’t mean much to us now since Phase 2 isn’t built yet, but they could pose challenges in the future.

These attendance areas are not yet final. Individuals with questions or concerns should contact Seattle Schools. Ways to do so are listed here.
