With all this hot weather, please remember to water the plants in your yard, especially if your yard is not on the irrigation system. If you have a tree in either your front or back yard and the tree has been in place less than three years, please consider providing supplemental water. Gator bags can be purchased (email me at “christina <at> dolcideleria <dot> com” if you need info on where to get them). Or, you can also take one or two 1 gallon milk jugs, poke some holes in the bottom, add a layer of gravel (larger than the holes, small enough to get through the top), then fill those with water and place around the bottom of the tree. This provides a long, slow drink for the tree and minimizes water loss.

If you have any specific landscape questions, you can contact the NRV Landscape Committee at “landscape <at> newrainiervista <dot> com”.
